The ancient tool of dowsing is still proving itself useful thanks to its extreme flexibility. It is a true evergreen, open to all needs and questions.

Is this the right present for your beloved? Dowse. Forgot your pin? Dowse. Confused by directions? Dowse.

If you want to ask me questions live about dowsing, sign up now for my online events here.

Now, I promised to answer five basic questions about dowsing, so let’s start.

What is dowsing?

The definition I use is 'Dowsing is the search for that which is hidden from view or knowledge’.

I think in its broadness it explains pretty clearly what dowsing is, does, and what it can reveal. It points to a discovery, a relevant piece of information, a needed answer.

Simply put, dowsing is an ancient tool that allows you to tap into the energy of all there is and get the answers you need. It has served humanity through the ages: to find water in the desert, get clear directions to get out of sticky situations, detect metals, locate landmines, retrieve lost objects, and much more.

It is a holistic and totally natural way of working with energies.

Can anybody dowse?

We are all born with an inner sense of knowledge and abilities going beyond the physical world. First, we need to listen, then trust and develop this strength.

You surely have experienced not liking and choosing to sit on a seat for no particular reason. Or, experiencing an inexplicable sense of deja vu.

Dowsing is no different. It is easy to learn and requires some practise to hone skills and yield better results.

What can I dowse for?

Anything! This is the absolute beauty of dowsing.

You can use dowsing for anything that relates to you, from wellbeing to career, from love to shopping, from travel to properties, and much much more.

Would you like to know if you need to take an umbrella today not to get wet? What time to leave to reach the train station on time? Which is the right shampoo for your hair? Which food compound is bloating your stomach?

Can I dowse for myself?

When it comes to dowsing for oneself, it is important to remember that we are energy. We tap into the flow and receive the answer.

Nothing could be simpler! Or is it?

It is, you go with the flow but stay out of it at the same time. Dowsing is a very practical and experiential tool, words cannot do it justice.

One word of advice: if you feel too deeply invested in a question, you may want another dowser to get the answer for you.

What do I use to dowse?

The traditional and widely recognised tools are pendulum, L-rods, Y-rod. Plus, a choice of bobbers.

Pendulum

Personally, I define a #pendulum as a weight hung from a fixed point so that it can swing freely.

It can be made of any materials: crystals are favourite, wood, metal, glass, and so on.

L-Rods

Literally, two L-shaped pieces of metal to be held loosely, so they can swing and spin, by their shortest side. Depending on what you are doing, it can help using one only.

Y-Rod Traditionally, a Y-shaped branch of hazelwood. Where the tips of the V side are held in each hand and meant to spring up or down. Nowadays, you can find Y-rods of different sizes and materials, including plastic.

Bobber

A #bobber, or dowsing wand, is usually made up of a handle, a flexible and bouncy wire, and a cap to weight the end tip.

Some of these tools are often highly personalised and may be eccentric-looking, but they work, so why not?

With practice, you will realise that a tool suits certain tasks better than others. Experiment and find the one you best resonate with. It will be a joy to dowse every time you pick up your favourite tool.

#Dowsing is an open-ended practice and a fantastic modality, retrieving answers straight from the energy field and presenting them to your consciousness.

If you have questions that need answers I am at your service with my remote dowsing.

Friday with Freya

Imagine you consciously and consistently knew what the best choices for you are.

Imagine you knew if the shampoo you are buying is the right one for your hair, unrelated to advertising and price. Imagine you knew which bread is not an irritant to your digestive system. Imagine you knew which estate agent to approach who could help you right away and on your terms. Imagine you knew which direction to take in life.

All this is possible, here and now. Ever heard of dowsing? Surely you did, perhaps without realising it.

There are countless reports in all ancient literature of someone who could find water in the desert or knew the direction to bring people to safety. Usually, they had a special staff to help them: to strike a rock or to help them along the way. Sounds familiar now?

As a professional dowser, the way I work is holistic, organic, and purely based on energy. I tune in to the energy relating to the question and allow it to provide the answer.

Depending on the issue at hand, I ask a series of relevant questions to build comprehensive guidance.

Let’s go back to our shampoo. Initially, I could ask if product A is the right shampoo for strengthening the hair of Madame X or to be be shown the right product from a list, perhaps within a certain price bracket. Also, I can verify if this will need to be reassessed soon, or if the product is good in the long run, or for how long it should be used to get visible results. Will it offer better results paired with its own brand conditioner? And so on.

As you can appreciate the number of relevant questions can vary and it very much depends on the initial query and the results one expects.

This can be applied to any doubts you may have, from career to travelling, from real estate to beauty, from relationships to wellbeing, and more.

The definition I use is ‘Divining, as in dowsing, is the search for that which is hidden from view or knowledge’.

By the way, you can still tap into the energy of hidden water if you wish!

Fear weakens your immune system

Fear is an innate emotion meant to protect us from a perceived threat. It prepares us for the fight-or-flight response in seconds. This is a great survival mechanism for certain situations, but if you live under constant fear your physical and mental health can quickly deteriorate.

Take any of these 7 actions to increase your wellbeing and a sense of personal control:

Breathe

This breathing exercise is calming and relaxing. While in a comfortable position (sitting, standing, lying down), inhale through your nose for 4 counts. Exhale through your nose for 4 counts. Repeat.

Meditate

Meditation is relaxing, calming, brings clarity and many more benefits.

Try different styles of meditation to find the one more suited to you, from walking to chanting, from sitting to guided, etc…

Practice mindfulness

Pay attention to how you feel, your actions and reactions to your surroundings. Focus on the activity at hand, for instance, if you are eating, do not watch TV or scroll through your phone, enjoy your food.

Explore apps like The Mindfulness App; Aura

Contemplate

A practice which requires a quiet expectation and rewards you with a deep sense of fulfilment.

Journaling

Reflect, analyse, clarify your life through this simple but extremely powerful tool. Personal writing on your day, feelings, or plans is authentic, it unleashes your potential, and opens up your mind.

If you are averse to pen and paper, there are digital options.

Shift your focus to positive emotions

As you start feeling fearful, shift your thoughts to a pleasant memory (meeting a loved one, a book you enjoyed, a completed DIY project, etc) or a future plan (travelling, new recipe to cook, visiting a famous spot, etc).

Visualise

Imagine or daydream about your beautiful day or weeks ahead. Make a space to review and create, mentally and in details, your best life and views of the world. This being a tool to create your future, be careful what you visualise!

It's important you are proactive with your choices. You have power!

Now, sit back, relax and drink a cup of chamomile, mint, ginger tea, Tulsi tea, or green tea, which incidentally are all proven to boost our immune system too.
